The old workflow nobody enjoys

You finish the design in Figma. Then comes the part everyone dreads: export each asset, rename the files, open Shopify, navigate to Files, upload one by one, copy the CDN URL, paste it into the theme. For logos, banners, and product images across multiple client stores, this can eat an hour of your day.

There's a faster way now

Figma released their own MCP server in 2025, which means Claude can connect directly to your Figma files. ShopMCP connects Claude to your Shopify store. Put them together in the same Claude session and the asset transfer happens in a single conversation — no downloads, no file manager, no copy-pasting URLs.

Here's what that looks like in practice:

You: The client logos are in my Figma file. Upload them all to the store's file library.

Claude: Pulled 3 assets from Figma. Uploading to Shopify CDN now… Done. Here are the URLs: [cdn.shopify.com/…]

That's it. What used to take 20 minutes takes 20 seconds.

What you need

  1. ShopMCPinstall from the Shopify App Store, copy your connector URL into Claude
  2. Figma MCP — connect your Figma account to Claude via the Figma MCP server (available at figma.com/mcp)
  3. Both connectors added to Claude — then start a conversation

What you can transfer

  • Client logos and brand assets → Shopify Files library
  • Hero images and banners → directly into your theme via ShopMCP
  • Product images → attached to products via shopify_attach_product_image
  • Collection banners → set as collection images in one step

Why this matters for agencies

If you manage multiple client stores, the time savings multiply. Design everything in Figma as usual, then tell Claude to push assets to whichever store they belong to. ShopMCP supports multiple stores in the same Claude session, so you can update three client stores from one conversation without switching tabs or tools.

The old Figma-to-Shopify guides all describe the same painful handoff: plugins, manual exports, developer involvement. This workflow skips all of it.
