If you search for "Revolut" in Shopify's third-party payment provider list, you'll find nothing. That's not a bug — it's just how Revolut works on Shopify. It's installed as a Shopify App, not a traditional payment gateway.

Here's how to add it.

What you need first

You need a Revolut Business or Revolut Pro account. If you only have a personal Revolut account, that won't work — sign up for Revolut Business here before you start.

Revolut Pay vs. Revolut Payment Gateway — which one?

Revolut offers two apps for Shopify:

  • Revolut Pay — lets Revolut customers pay directly from their Revolut account in one click. Similar to Apple Pay or Google Pay, but for Revolut users. Big in Europe.
  • Revolut Payment Gateway — full card processing through Revolut. Accepts any card, any customer, with multi-currency support and competitive transaction fees.

You can install both. Most merchants do.

How to add Revolut to your Shopify store

  1. Go to the Revolut Pay app or Revolut Payment Gateway app in the Shopify App Store
  2. Click Install, then confirm by clicking Install again on the next page
  3. Select your account type: Revolut Business or Revolut Pro
  4. Log in and click Authorise to connect your Revolut merchant account
  5. Back in Shopify, click Activate — done

Revolut will now appear under Settings → Payments → Additional payment methods in your Shopify admin.

One thing to know

Revolut Pay will appear at the bottom of the payment options list at checkout. Reordering payment methods requires the Shopify Plus plan. On standard plans, you can't push Revolut Pay to the top — it sits below the primary method.

Is it free?

Both apps are free to install. You pay per successful transaction — no monthly fee, and refunds are free.
